SINISTHRA Featuring AMORPHIS Singer Sign With ARISE RECORDS

SINISTHRA (formerly NEVERGREEN),the Finnish band featuring current AMORPHIS frontman Tomi Joutsen, have set "Last of the Stories of Long Past Glories" as the title of their full-length debut, tentatively due in May via Arise Records. The CD was recorded last summer at Sonic Pump studios and features a sound best described as "metal with all the most common metal clichés removed," according to the group's official web site. A "teaser" MP3 containing audio samples from the forthcoming CD can be downloaded at this location.

Joutsen joined AMORPHIS late last year as the replacement for longtime AMORPHIS singer Pasi Koskinen, who left the band in August. Pasi's last live appearance with the band took place at the Kontu Rock festival on August 21.
